A TRIBUTE TO NINA SIMONE
Tuesday, October 13 · 8PM

An evening honoring the High Priest of Soul at The Beehive, where great cocktails, good company and seriously soulful musicianship come together.

This isn't a karaoke night of greatest hits. It's a celebration of one of the most electrifying artists of the 20th century. Nina Simone was a classically trained piano prodigy, a fearless civil rights voice and a sound all her own, blending jazz, blues, gospel, folk and classical. Expect "Feeling Good," "I Put a Spell on You," "Mississippi Goddam" and more, performed with the reverence and fire they deserve.

Nadia Washington & the Lee Fish Band | 8PM
Dallas-born powerhouse Nadia Washington has gospel in her bones and a résumé to match. She's shared the stage with Esperanza Spalding, Lalah Hathaway and George Duke, and she sang on Dianne Reeves' Grammy-winning Beautiful Life. She's joined by the band of Boston-born drummer Lee Fish, whose deep-pocket groove has earned praise from DownBeat and gigs with jazz greats like Danilo Pérez and Gary Burton. The two have been making music together for more than a decade, and you'll feel that chemistry in every song: raw, soulful and built for a room that's really listening.

Pour something good, settle in and let Nina's music move you.
