About the event
It is all about the power, depth and inspiration of Nina Simone..., songwriter, pianist, composer, and civil rights activist known as the "High Priestess of Soul". There are no musicians who have a greater impact than Nina Simone.
Nadia is a musical force. It is not just her nuanced powerhouse vocal presence that makes her shine. Nadia is unique and deeply creative in a huge way. She can be heard among the likes of performers such as Esperanza Spalding, Lalah Hathaway, Dianne Reeves, Terri Lynn Carrington and the late George Duke. Washington has also made acute impressions within the Hip-Hop realm on collaborations with Ray Angry of The Roots, Georgia Anne Muldrow and DJ Mark De Clive-Lowe. Notably, she can be heard on the critically acclaimed 2015 Blue Note and Revive Music recording, Revive Music Presents Supreme Sonacy Vol. 1.
Nadia is collaborating with drummer/composer Lee Fish and his group of visionary musicians.
