Boston’s Beehive launches Beehive-Art-Scope 1
The Beehive launches the first of an ongoing art series, “Beehive-Art-Scope 1” on April 1, 2008 from 7:00PM – 10:00PM. The event will push both visual and auditory boundaries appealing to all five senses providing artists a chance to get outside of the “white box” as they show their work in an alternative art venue.
“We support the arts on our stage, in the finishes that make our restaurant design so unique, and on our walls. Our goal is to highlight innovative, emerging and largely local artists and provide them with an opportunity for public attention and exposure” said Jennifer Epstein co-owner and art curator of The Beehive.
Beehive-Art-Scope 1 will be an evening filled with video, performance, music by The Sewer Rats with John Lockwood, Nat Mugavero and Leo Genovese, cocktails and other foolish elements out of the ordinary including featured artists Douglas Weathersby, a 2003 Institute of Contemporary Art, Artist's Prize winner; performance artist Bryce Kaufmann, a 2004 Museum of Fine Arts Traveling Scholar Award Recipient, a selection of Video Works; as well as a collection of art installations co-curated by artist Jeff Perrott and Beehive owner Jennifer Epstein inculding work by a varied and talented group of artists seen below:
